This policy applies to all information collected or submitted using Sunbeam’s apps for iPhone and any other supported devices or platforms (“Sunbeam”, “the app”, “we”, “us”).
Information Sunbeam collects
Location
Sunbeam may request your device’s location to show local UV Index and weather. Your location data remains on device and is not sent to or stored on Sunbeam’s servers.
You can change or revoke location permission at any time in the Settings app on your device.
Analytics (TelemetryDeck)
We use TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany) to understand app usage and improve Sunbeam. The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, as we require reliable and efficient tools for collecting app usage data in order to fulfill the contract with you, our customer.
What data is transferred?
The data processed by TelemetryDeck is completely anonymized and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about personal information.
The following data is collected, among other things:
- an anonymized, untraceable user ID (per app installation),
- actions defined by the app (e.g., “app launched,” “settings opened”),
- a rounded timestamp (to the nearest hour),
- device metadata (e.g., system version, app version, device type),
- additional metadata defined by the app (e.g., “number of items in the database”).
What is not stored?
- No IP addresses (not in logs, not in the database),
- No cookies or tracking technologies,
- No persistent identifiers that could be traced back to individuals.

Support communications
If you email us, we’ll receive your email address and any information you include so we can reply. We use this only to handle your request and then retain it as needed for support and record-keeping.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide core functionality (e.g. fetch weather/UV Index data)
- maintain, improve, and debug the app (via anonymized analytics)
- respond to your support requests
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Data sharing
We share information only with providers necessary to run the app (e.g. weather forecast providers, TelemetryDeck) or when required by law, to exercise legal rights, or to investigate suspected abuse.
Security
Sunbeam takes steps to help keep your information secure. This includes collecting only the minimum data that is required to accomplish Sunbeam’s functionality, using modern transport encryption where applicable, and choosing privacy-respecting providers (e.g., TelemetryDeck’s anonymized analytics).
California privacy (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by CCPA/CPRA. Some rights may not apply to anonymized analytics.
International transfers of information
Information may be processed, stored, and used outside the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored or used.
